Slow Laptop?
After a while your laptop will feel a lot slower than it used to. With new laptops at low prices, just buy a new one, right? Not necessarily! Cheap laptops are generally slow laptops and might even be as slow as your current one. If you do some upgrades to your current laptop, as well as a clean-out of redundant software, you’ll often end up with a laptop that is much faster than even a £400—£500 laptop.
We will be able to work out exactly what is making your laptop slow, recommend upgrades for you along with the likely performance improvement. We could even make it faster than when you first brought it, but please do have realistic expectations, there is only so much we could do with your 486 monochrome doorstop!
Laptop Power Problems
The power socket on your laptop, the bit where you connect the power cable, is often a weak spot and has a tendency to break. Most manufacturers don’t make the connection between the DC Jack and the board strong enough so they break easily.
You’ll know that your DC Jack is faulty if your laptop only works on battery power and won’t charge or if it feels wobbly and you need to flex the power cord around to make it come on, a common but very temporary fix. It’s actually very important NOT to do this because each time you flex the connector, you’re risking it breaking causing real internal damage which can cause data loss. Most likely the DC Jack needs to be replaced.

Laptop Screen Replacement
Is your screen cracked? Do the images flicker or is the screen just dark? Does your laptop start up but after a while fades to black? No Problem — we see this every day. Laptop repair prices for screens are from £75 including parts.
Please note that if you have a laptop/netbook with a bezel-less InfinityEdge display these can be extremely expensive to replace due to their construction and it it can be difficult to get the parts. Please call for details.
For Apple MacBooks, we are happy to provide you a quote and may considerably cheaper than going to Apple directly for screen repairs. Be aware these screen can be very expensive.

Laptop Liquid Damage
Here is a great tip – laptops don’t really like liquid!
If you have spilled something on your laptop (Water, wine, fizzy drink, baby food, the goldfish bowl or the contents of your shower), the first thing you need to do quickly is remove the battery & power cord if you can do so safely. Then turn the laptop upside down, so the liquid can hopefully fall out of the keyboard.
With a water spill , you might be lucky enough that in a couple of days you can power the laptop back on and it will be fine.
If it was anything except water, especially alcohol, sugary drinks (Coca-Cola/Pepsi is the worst), then you want to take your laptop to specialist as quickly as possible. Even as the liquid dries, the sugar will corrode the components inside the laptop causing more damage.

We can often repair your laptop and get it working again without new parts . Sometimes the keyboard must be replaced. In absolute worst case scenarios the Mother Board has to be replaced.
Laptop Overheating
Does your laptop get hot then perhaps shut off suddenly? Heat in a laptop is a killer. There are fans inside it to keep it cool but they get clogged up with dust and stop working. We can clean the internal fans, which will allow air to flow through the laptop again. We will also reapply something called thermal compound on to the chips to help keep them cool.
